Boise man gets up to 33 years in prison after deadly attempted robbery
BOISE, Idaho (CBS2) — A 24-year-old man could spend up to 33 years in prison for his role in an attempted robbery that left a man dead.
The Ada County Prosecutor's Office says Devoune Mosley was the getaway driver for an attempted robbery in March of 2021. During the attempt, officials say Matthew Crawford shot and killed Guy Lopez II.
Boise Police took Mosley and Crawford into custody after they tried to run from officers.
In April, Mosley pled guilty to conspiracy to commit robbery. As part of the plea agreement, his remaining charges of first-degree murder, and unlawful possession of a firearm by a convicted felon were dismissed. Crawford was sentenced for second-degree murder earlier this year.
He will be eligible for parole after 13 years in prison.
“Those who conspire to commit crimes with others will be held accountable for their actions. Ensuring justice, in this case, was made possible by the work done from the Boise Police patrol officers and detectives who investigated this case,” said Ada County Prosecutor Jan Bennetts. “I, again, extend my deepest condolences to Mr. Lopez’s family and friends.”
